Dr.Daryl AmmonsDoctor of Chiropractic/Owner
Dr. Ammons graduated from Life University in 1980. Prior to his chiropractic studies, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduating with a Biology degree. Dr. Ammons was born in Sanford, lived in the Deep River community north of Sanford, and graduated from Deep River High School. He became interested in Chiropractic after experiencing the benefits of Chiropractic on several occasions as a teenager and, once his undergrad studies were completed, decided his calling was to be a Chiropractor. While in chiropractic college Dr. Ammons had the good fortune to study under and later intern with Dr. Roy Sweat researcher and developer of the Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic program. Dr. Ammons was a charter member and has served on the Board of Directors of the R.W. Sweat Research Foundation since it’s inception in the 1980’s. Dr. Ammons has continued his studies and has been board certified in Atlas Orthogonal procedures by both the R. W. Sweat Foundation and Sherman College of Chiropractic. He has also been certified in Activator Methods Chiropractic, Cox Flexion Distraction procedures, Advanced Spinal Biomechanical Engineering, and most recently received certification in Kennedy Decompression Technique. He has also studied nutrition extensively, especially the role of whole food supplements in improving bodily function, healing, and overall health. Dr. Ammons has always made every effort to have the best of equipment and stay abreast of any new advances in Chiropractic. When he is not working Dr. Ammons enjoys hunting, fishing, church activities, and spending time with his wife, three children, and especially his three grandchildren.
Dr.Rachel Myers MyersAssociate Chiropractor
Dr. Myers was born and raised in Texas. She became interested in chiropractic after years of repetitive injuries to her spine from cheerleading and gymnastics. She began getting adjusted at the age of 12 and because of chiropractic was able to continue with cheering and running track for many more years. Dr. Myers says, “Once I understood that chiropractic was simply putting the bone back in to place and allowing the body to heal itself the way God intended it to, I knew I wanted to pursue this career and help others get back their life and have complete wellness their whole lives.”
Dr. Myers attended Dallas Baptist University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Religion in 2004. Before beginning her chiropractic journey, she had the opportunity to live in Africa and work with missionaries through the International Mission Board. Once she retuned back to the states, she attended Parker University in Dallas, TX and graduated in 2008 with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Once Dr. Myers moved to North Carolina she worked under Dr. Daryl Ammons and received training by Dr. Roy Sweat in order to obtain her Board Certification in Atlas Orthogonal work in 2015. Dr. Myers feels blessed that she can go to work and see the miracles of chiropractic happen every day.
Dr. Myers lives in Apex with her husband, Tri, and her three children. She enjoys serving at her church, The Summit, with the youth, spending time with her family camping, reading, being a chicken mama and loving on her animals.
Dr. Cory BurksAssociate Chiropractor
Dr. Cory Burks grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a focus on human movement. After his undergraduate work, Dr. Burks had the incredible opportunity to work alongside an upper cervical chiropractor as a corrective exercise specialist. During that time, he was able to help alleviate pain and increase the performance in a wide range of clients through specialized stretching and movement. After seeing the power that Chiropractic had on restoring balance to the whole structure and getting results in much less time, he decided to pursue his doctorate in Chiropractic from Life University in Atlanta, GA. During his time in school, he continued to search for the most efficient technique that could restore the alignment of the whole body without any high force popping or twisting of the neck. Dr. Burks’ passion for helping patients experience their highest levels of health and performance drives him to continue to learn every day in order to provide the best care possible to everyone he treats. When he is not at work, he enjoys any kind of outdoor or athletic activity including jiu-jitsu, swimming, cycling, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and hiking.
Dr. Trey JerniganAssociate Chiropractor
Dr. Trey Jernigan is our newest addition to the staff. She joined in May 2018. She comes to us from Apex, NC born and raised. She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology while also representing her school as a collegiate softball athlete at Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem NC. She received her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC. She still represents her school by going to colleges and career fairs to help recruit future chiropractors into the profession because she believes that the more people we can reach with chiropractic, the healthier this world will be. In her spare time, she is the head coach of a travel fastpitch softball team for low income families. She hopes to give the teens on her team the same opportunities to go to college by receiving athletic scholarships for their abilities like she did.
Robin ReavisOffice Manager and Radiology Technologist
Robin is our Office Manager and Radiology Technologist, ARRT-R. She is a member of the American Registry of Radiological Technologist and the American Society of Radiologic Technologist. She is an expert at obtaining X-rays of the highest quality which are necessary for the type of care offered in our office. She utilizes the latest technology in low dosage high frequency digital X-ray. In addition, she is an Advanced Certified Chiropractic Assistant, through the Cleveland Chiropractic College and the North Carolina Chiropractic Association. Robin is certified in our class IV Therapeutic K-laser, Kennedy Decompression Technique, and has her North Carolina Chiropractic Association Insurance Certification. Robin lives in Siler City with her Husband, Kenny. She has a cat named Charlie and one daughter, Amie. She also enjoys the company of her grand cat and grand dog, Molly and Aura.
April WomackFront Desk Specialist
Originally from Greensboro, NC, April and her family now enjoy calling Sanford home. She is our front desk specialist and has over 20 years experience in the health care industry. April is a Certified Chiropractic Clinical Assistant and is one of the first people you will see or talk to at our office. April is eager to help you start your journey of wellness with us.
Dana ClancyFront Desk Specialist
Dana was born in Voorhees, NJ but has called Sanford, NC her home since 1998. She received her Chiropractic Clinical Assistant certification in the Fall of 2017 and specializes in Front Desk Operations as well as Chiropractic Therapy. Dana is typically the first person you will see in our office and she looks forward to helping her community with their spinal health goals.
Samantha TaylorTherapy Specialist
Sam grew up in Sanford, NC. She received her Associate degree at Central Carolina Community College. Her bubbly personality and caring demeanor make her the perfect fit in our Therapy Department. She is a Certified Chiropractic Clinical Assistant, certified in IV therapeutic K-Laser, Kennedy Decompression, and is a Certified Posture Exercise Professional (CPEP). In her downtime, Sam enjoys the company of her husband, little girl, and their fur babies.
Taylor HoxworthTherapy Specialist
Taylor was raised in Carthage, NC. He was a welcomed addition to Ammons Chiropractic in November of 2017. He previously had the oppurtunity to work with the Carolina Panthers through Sandhills Community College while earning his diploma in Therapeutic Massage. His best friend is a 75-pound Rottador by the name of Lance. He is a Certified Chiropractic Clinical Assistant and has his certification in Kinesiology/Fascial movement taping. He loves his Panthers, Tar Heels, and Red Sox. There is never a bad moment to talk about sports with Taylor!
Nancy GrovesInsurance Specialist
Originally from the Adirondack region of New York, Nancy loves nature and the outdoors. Nancy relocated to Sanford in 2014 to be closer to family. She serves as our insurance specialist, who is eager to help assist you with any questions regarding billing or insurance needs. When not in the office, she spends most of her free time with her children and 4 grandchildren.
Terry AmmonsBilling Specialist
Terry is the Billing Specialist for Ammons Chiropractic and has been a certified Chiropractic Assistant for over 30 years. You will seldom see her in the office but she is always available to assist you with any billing questions. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family.
Laura Lett-ThomasPractice Representative
Laura grew up in Lee County, after graduating from UNC-W with a Bachelors degree in Motion Picture Film Studies she returned to her home town. She has marketed for several local businesses and non-profits. She is the public face of our practice and eagerly awaits meeting you at all of our local events and businesses. Laura is extremely active in the community as a Chamber Ambassador, Young Life Committee Member, and professional photographer. She is the mother of 3 beautiful girls.
